PEOPLE are being given an insight into the work of Patrickswell Tidy Towns thanks to a new calendar they have produced.
The hard-working group are celebrating a momentous year with the launch of their 2023 calendar.
The calendar is brimming with photographs of various endeavours the Tidy Towns group have undertaken in the last year.
Just a few weeks ago the group secured fourth place in the Limerick Going for Gold Tidy Towns category, taking home a cheque for €3,000.
Alan Lyne is the mastermind behind the upcoming year’s calendar having previously worked with the group by creating graphics and helping them out with their Facebook page.
“The launch was a great success with a good turnout. The Tidy Towns group were very happy and the reaction to the calendar was extremely positive,” Alan said.
The launch took place in the Dark Horse pub, a well-known location in the heart of Patrickswell.
Sam Milburn of Patrickswell Tidy Towns spoke about the calendar: “The business community here supported us with the cost of the printing.
“The calendar is €10 each and because the cost was supported, the Tidy Towns group gets a clear profit so it’s a great fundraiser.
“Due to Covid, we weren’t able to use our previous forms of fundraising such as coffee mornings and quiz nights so we had to think outside the box. The community has been very supportive,” Sam said.
The Patrickswell Tidy Towns calendars can be purchased from McDermotts Gala, the Dark Horse pub and Centra, all located in Patrickswell.
