ST GABRIEL’S School and Centre has been chosen as the official charity partner of this year’s Mayor’s charity ball.

The facility, located in Dooradoyle, is dedicated to the care and education of children with multiple physical disabilities.

The Mayor’s charity ball is set to be the social event of the year, as the annual charity spectacular prepares to celebrate all that is great on the Shannonside.

“It is an occasion that celebrates life in Limerick and all we have to be proud of,” Mayor of Limerick City and County cllr James Collins said.

“It has been a wonderful year for the city and county and it is an opportunity to celebrate our successes,” he added.

The black-tie event will showcase the very best local food produce including hand-reared pork from Rigney’s Farm, apples from Attyflin Estate and seafood from Sextons.

“I’m delighted to be working with our local food hero Tom Flavin in the Limerick Strand Hotel to showcase the fabulous produce from Limerick and the Mid-West,” Mayor Collins said.

“It is set to be a great night that will be remembered with wonderful food, live music and a few surprises on the night.”

Mayor Collins will host the blacktie event on Friday April 12 at the Limerick Strand Hotel.

Limited tickets  are on sale from the Office of the Mayor, Limerick City and County Council, 061 557334 or email mayor@limerick.ie.
