Witness appeal following death of injured cyclist airlifted to Limerick

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after the injured man was found lying on the road at Colkeragh on the R552 between Ballylongford and Listowel. 

GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses after a seriously injured male cyclist, who was airlifted from the scene to Limerick, passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning. 

Emergency services were called shortly after 5pm on Wednesday evening after the man was found lying on the road at Colkeragh on the R552 between Ballylongford and Listowel. 

The injured man was removed from the scene by helicopter to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead in the early hours of Thursday. 

Following a post-mortem examination earlier this Friday,  gardaí investigating the circumstances of the man’s death have appealed for witnesses.
