UNIVERSITY Hospital Limerick has the highest level of overcrowding in the country this Tuesday.
According to figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, there were 70 patients treated on trolleys in the emergency department and the wards at UHL.
That is the highest number of trolleys recorded in any hospital so far this year.
On one day last week, UHL had 69 patients on trolleys.
UHL had almost double the amount of trolleys the second most overcrowded hospital, Cork University Hospital, which had 36 patients on trolleys.
