Holiday Show makes a return to UL for a fourth year

The Holiday Show takes place at UL Arena on February 16 and 17

THE Holiday Show, in association with Shannon Airport, returns to the UL Sport Arena this month.

Now in its fourth year, with over 90 exhibitors, the show will take place on  Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17 from 11-5pm.

Attendees can snap up exclusive deals, get expert advice, win some amazing prizes and plan out the perfect holiday to suit their needs.

“Booking holidays early this year is essential. With last minute deals to be few and far between due to the rush to snap up holidays to the Canaries, Spain, Portugal and the USA and Canada,” Declan Power, head of aviation development, Shannon Airport stated.

Trends this year suggest that consumers are likely to be disappointed if they wait for a ‘last minute’ deal.

The show is the biggest of its kind outside of the capital. Experts will be on hand to provide holidaymaker's with all the advice they need for booking their trip, whether it’s their annual holiday, a short-break or honeymoon.

“We are delighted to be back for a fourth year, bigger and better than before. Shannon Airport is now Ireland’s fastest growing airport outside of the capital. Last year was its best year this decade with growth of 6.5% bringing total passenger numbers to over 1.86 million,” said Mr Power.

“New services to Toronto with Air Canada and new Ryanair services to Barcelona-Reus, Bristol and Liverpool helped achieve record passenger numbers in 2018. This year sees the introduction of Ibiza and East Midlands with Ryanair and the Alicante service increasing to year-round so we have another exciting year ahead,” he added.

The Holiday Show will be open from 11-5pm. Entry and car parking is free and there will be a free children’s entertainment zone also.

Edmund Hourican is the managing director of business exhibitions and an organiser of the show.

“We have a great event lined up and the timing is excellent as it’s going to be a bumper year for holidays, the biggest in over a decade," Mr Hourican said.

“All sectors, from the traditional package holiday to cruises, are up,” he added.

Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to discuss and book their holidays with travel experts and also be in with a chance to win one of many prizes on offer throughout the two day event.
