THE efforts of small, medium and large companies and charities will be recognised this Friday night at the annual Limerick Chamber business awards.

Seven firms from across the region will be honoured at what is the biggest night in Limerick’s local business calendar.

More than 400 business leaders will be at the Limerick Strand Hotel for the annual Limerick Chamber business awards, which double up as its president Dr Mary Shire’s annual dinner.

In order to recognise as broad a range of companies as possible, the Limerick Chamber awards judges have split 21 companies into seven categories.

While seven companies will win separate prizes, one of these will also be named Limerick’s Company of the Year, winning the top Chamber award for 2018.

Categories include best large business, best retail, best corporate social responsibility and best community business.

And Chamber president Dr Shire will also afford a special lifetime achievement award, to be revealed on the night.

Limerick Chamber chief executive Dee Ryan said: “Excitement is really building here in the Chamber as we count down the final hours to revealing the 2018 winners of our Regional Business Awards.”

The Limerick Leader is the media partner of the Chamber business awards, while its keynote sponsor is LIT.

AIB, meanwhile, sponsors the presidential dinner element of the event, and is also the business representative group’s small business partner.

Dr Liam Brown of LIT said: “LIT is delighted to partner with Limerick Chamber in recognising the success and achievements of businesses in our region.

“As sponsors of these awards for the eighth year running, we are delighted to be involved in Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards as it is an opportunity to honour companies who are thriving and succeeding in the current economic climate.”
