KILTEELY Tidy Towns is holding a big party this Saturday night to mark their 10th anniversary – and they have a lot to celebrate!

Under the stewardship of the tireless John McCarthy, Kilteely has increased its score in the Tidy Towns competition every year.

John says the night, kicking off at 9.30pm in Ahern’s lounge on Saturday, May 12, is a way of thanking everybody, who has helped and supported their endeavours over the last 10 years.

“It is going to be a celebration of all our achievements. We have won something every year. We have won Limerick in Bloom three out of the last six years. We won Pride of Place in 2015. We were second in Going for Gold in 2016,” said John, who is the co-ordinator of Kilteely Tidy Towns.

“An awful lot of projects have been completed too to enhance the village and surroundings. We have over 70 out during Team Limerick Clean-up. We just wanted to have a night to thank all the people who have helped and supported the good works,” said John.

Music will be provided by Finnbarr and Chloe Dennehy and John has been working hard to secure top class raffle prizes. Entry into the draws will be included in the €5 ticket.

They have weekends away and an evening meal courtesy of Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel in Adare; Armada Hotel in Spanish Point and Nagle’s camping and caravan park in Doolin.

“There will be many more prizes on the night. We have also got kind sponsorship from St Ailbe’s Credit Union in Caherconlish. Everybody who comes on the night will be entered into the draw,” said John.

Tickets are available form Kilteely Tidy Towns committee members and will be available on the door at Ahern’s. Contact John on 087 2746299 for more information.
