AN AMERICAN artist has written to the Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, to ask for his help identifying a Limerick man in a picture he painted, writes Jess Casey.

Artist Jim Kozak has written to Mayor Stephen Keary appealing for help finding the man in his painting as he hopes to send him a copy.

Mr Kozak visited Ireland eight years ago with his wife, when he took the photograph of the unnamed man sitting in Limerick.

Having recently retired, Mr Kozak hopes to visit Ireland again soon.

Readers who might know this man or have any information can contact Limerick City and County Council by emailing customerservices@limerick.ie or by calling +353 61 556000.
