Met Éireann is warning of heavy rainfall across Limerick this weekend.
The 24-hour Status Yellow weather alert took effect from 6pm this Friday with the forecaster predicting between 30mm and 40mm of rainfall across the city and county as well as in Tipperary and Offaly.
Gardai are appealing to motorists to exercise caution when driving this weekend because of the expected rainfall.

Meanwhile, a separate Status Yellow weather alert has been issued for counties Galway, Mayo, Clare and Kerry with Met Éireann predicting up to 50mm of rainfall.
