ARMED gardai were called to assist uniformed officers following an alleged assault in county Limerick over the weekend.
It occurred at a residence in Adare at around 10.30pm on Saturday night.
It is understood that members of the Regional Support Unit were on patrol in west Limerick at the time and assisted their garda colleagues following the report being made to emergency services.
It is thought that the accused and the alleged victim both work in the same business and reside in the same property.

A garda spokesperson confirmed to Limerick Live that gardaí have arrested and charged a man following an incident of assault at a residence in Adare, County Limerick on October 19, 2024.
The garda spokesperson said a male, aged in his 40s, was due to appear before Limerick District Court on Monday morning at 10.30am.
Investigations are ongoing.
