THERE was a large turnout at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Ennis Road across the weekend as one of the highest-profile social events of the local calendar took place.
The Butterfly Ball took place on Saturday night, with all the money raised going to benefit the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation.
Funds are used to complement and cooperate with the HSE to assist regional cancer services in areas such as purchasing equipment, funding research, and continuing education that is necessary to support the designated National Cancer Centre.

Along with this, the Foundation also helps to create awareness of cancer in the Mid-West region.
All proceeds are used to enhance the Mid-Western Cancer Centre.
The annual Butterfly Ball is run by the board of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation.
