Mid-West Simon ball in Limerick to raise funds for a social grocery

THE ANNUAL fundraising ball for the Mid-West Simon Community is set to take place in late September to raise money for the social grocery - a pioneering project to combat poverty in Limerick city.

The ball will take place on Saturday, September 28 at 6.30pm in Limerick Strand Hotel.

Launching the ball, Mayor John Moran said: “Homelessness, addiction, and many other issues like domestic violence are challenges we know only too well in Limerick.

“Helping address them are priorities for my mayoral programme.

“I hope to see the people of Limerick rally around this good cause again this year as they have done before.”

With help from a generous donation from the JP McManus Pro Am, the building for the social grocery has been purchased and the organisation are now looking to raise vital funds for its renovation.
