Gardai are appealing to women to safely store their handbags
LIMERICK gardaí are warning people to be careful of their valuables as a woman had her handbag stolen while doing the grocery shopping.
Gardaí say the woman in her late twenties was doing her shopping and had put her handbag in the trolley.
“She was distracted for a second and her handbag was taken. In this case, CCTV in the supermarket was excellent and a suspect has been nominated.

“Gardaí searched for and found the handbag close by and everything except cash was returned,” crime prevention officer with Henry Street garda station, Sergeant Ber Leetch told Limerick Live.
She added: “Another woman was opening a business on O’Connell Street, she placed her handbag down and went into the business. Her handbag was gone when she went out to get it.
“Again CCTV has nominated a suspect but as always garda advice is to keep your personal property on you at all times.”
