Works ongoing to restore water supply to parts of Limerick and Clare
CUSTOMERS affected by a loss of water supply due to a burst watermain in areas of Limerick and Clare could expect water to be back by 7pm or 8pm this evening (Thursday, August 22).
Uisce Éireann have told Limerick Live that they are working to restore the water supply, which is affecting people in Longpavement, Moyross, Ballynanty, Thomondgate, Shelbourne Road, Moylish, Corbally, Shannon Banks and surrounding areas in Limerick, along with Cratloe, Parteen and surrounding areas in Clare.
Expert water service crews have been dispatched and are carrying out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible.
The repair works are expected to be completed by 5pm today.
It could take two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
A spokesperson for Uisce Éireann said: “We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused.
