My week with Celia Holman Lee: Dublin Horse Show antics!

THE 149th Dublin Horse Show welcomed thousands to its iconic grounds in the RDS and I had the honour of attending.

I went on Thursday to the international sporting and social event of the summer, which combines sport, style and socialising in the heart of Dublin city.

Best Dressed took place on the day, at the band lawn, where the most stylish person Lorraine Ryan Kelly walked away with €10,000 in cash. Congratulations!

Opting for a V-neck, sky blue coloured dress with petal details, I felt it was the right fit for a spotlight summer outing.

I also sported a striking hat with rose detailing and some pearls to match, with my  accessories  from Tadhg Kearney jewellers in Limerick city.

It was a day of glorious galavanting, despite the wet weather on the way up.

Following the Galway Races, I feel like I have a wonderful appreciation for the equestrian world.

Beyond the fashion and fun, the sport itself is highly impressive. Watching  the elite international showjumping teams perform has the wow factor.

However, the show showcases more than elite riders – with over 165 classes and competitions that cover everything from Connemara pony classes to ladies side saddles, there is truly something for everyone who has even a small interest in horses.  And like me, who is no expert in anything equestrian but loves attending race meetings during the summer.

There is also a RDS shopping village, indoor and outdoor bars and restaurants serving scrumptious local produce, as well as street food from around the world.

Days out like these are always calendar staples and though I don't want them to end, we have so much to look forward to, and I am grateful for every moment.
