Cultural and everyday items at the Islamic Cultural Exhibition which was held in Limerick last weekend
A SPECIAL event focusing on Islamic culture has taken place in the city centre.
The Hunt Museum was the venue for the Islamic Cultural Exhibition, which comes to Limerick each year.
More than 1,000 people dropped into the event through Saturday last, and Waheed Uddin, the chairperson of Discover Islam Ireland was delighted with this.

“The purpose of the exhibition is to give an opportunity to the wider community to come and learn the culture and belief system of Islam,” he explained.
Mr Uddin says it is also a way in which the gap can be bridged.
The event also served as a way to clear up any misconceptions people might have about the Islam faith.
“Many people don’t know about Islamic culture. We have a very similar belief system. We believe in charity, we also believe in being good to our neighbour,” Mr Uddin explained.
