PLANS are being made for a new youth and community facility on the southside.
Council has teamed up with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board plus Limerick GAA to prepare a business case for the facility.
It would most likely be located in or near the St Enda’s complex at Kilmallock Road.
Councillors hope it would service communities in Southill and its surrounds, given the Factory Youthspace in Galvone Industrial Estate will close at Christmas.
The information on the proposal came to light following a question at this month’s metropolitan meeting by Cllr Catherine Slattery.
She expressed concerns at the location of this facility.
