Cash stolen from young woman at ATM in Limerick

GARDAI are investigating after cash was stolen from a woman at an ATM in Limerick.

A 20 year old woman went to an ATM in O'Connell Street on Monday, May 16 at 9:30pm. 

She was waiting for her cash to pop out when suddenly another female jumped in front of her, swiped the cash and ran off.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry Street garda station urged people to be cautious at ATMs.

"Gardai are investigating and CCTV has been of great evidential value but the young woman was very shocked and upset.

"If you must go to an ATM and the street is quiet go to a shop or garage instead. Take the time to secure your cash before you leave the shop."
