Emmet Scanlan is the organiser of the Newcastle West Music Trail Festival
EMMET Scanlan has released the lead song from his upcoming EP.
The Limerick-born and based singer-songwriter released Every Given Day on April 26.
Emmet's new track is a poignant homage to his little girl, and the positive effect that children have on their parents, particularly on dads - a topic not often spoken about in Ireland, let alone commemorated in song.
Emmet has also created a video of footage of dads and their small treasures, following a call-out on radio and social media, which had great uptake.
Emmet works with the band What The Good Thought - an international group with members from Sweden, England and New Zealand.
Their style has strong elements of folk, soul and blues, with Emmet’s astute lyrics always to the fore.
The band has been performing in various shapes and sizes for almost fifteen years and have had three previous EP releases.
Emmet has also been busy organising the second year of a festival he has created – Newcastle West Music Trail Festival – featuring eight amazing acts in eight amazing venues.
He will be performing at the festival with his cellist, Nicola Geddes. The duo will perform in Newcastle West’s famous Desmond Castle.
