Drive-thru pharmacy set for Limerick

A drive-thru pharmacy is planned for Moyross

LIMERICK’S first drive-thru pharmacy looks set to open as part of a major new development on the northside.

Tinwat Holdings have secured planning permission from council for a major multi-use housing, medical and commercial development on the edge of the Moyross estate.

The multi-million euro project will include housing, a new private hospital and a neighbourhood centre among other things.

And, as part of that neighbourhood centre, a pharmacy with a drive-thru dispensary facility is planned.

The facility will measure almost 200 square metres.

It will join a cafe with an outdoor seating area, a convenience store and a day centre.

Agents for the developer stated in communication with council planners that the centre will serve “the projected increase in population in the area”.

This will include the 311 new people who it’s envisaged will live in the apartments and houses.

“These services will also support the adjoining proposed ambulatory medical facility,” the developer’s agents added.

In other documents, they described the vision for the area as “transformative” and one which meets the need for elderly care facilities, and addresses a pressing housing shortage.

“Our vision is to establish a haven where residents of all ages can thrive in an environment that fosters holistic wellbeing,” they add.
