GARDAI in Henry Street have arrested a second man as part of an investigation into an incident of violent disorder in Limerick city.
It occurred at approximately 9.40pm on Friday, February 9 on O'Connell Street.
A garda spokesperson said two men received non-life threatening injuries during the course of this incident and later attended at University Hospital Limerick.
"A man in his 30s was arrested on the evening of Friday, February 9 while a man in his 20s was arrested on the morning of Sunday, February 11.
"The man in his 30s has since been charged and is expected to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court sitting at Nenagh, County Tipperary, at 5pm on Sunday, February 11," said the garda spokesperson.
The man in his 20s, who was arrested this Sunday morning, is being questioned at a garda station in Limerick city.
He is being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
