Fights divert to Shannon Airport due to Storm Isha

SIX commercial flight diversions have been facilitated at Shannon Airport this Sunday due to adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Isha.

A spokesperson for the Shannon Airport Group said six flights, five of which were originally due to land at Dublin Airport and one flight due to land at Cork Airport, were diverted to Shannon Airport today.

“Flights from Portugal, Luxembourg, Poland and the UK, originally due to land in Dublin and Cork today diverted to Shannon, all landing safely.

"They were FR7031 from Faro originally due to land in Dublin which diverted to  Shannon landing at 11.26am; FR1949 from Luxembourg to Dublin landed at Shannon at noon; FR1893 from Bydgoszcz due to land in Dublin, landed at Shannon at 13:23. Flight KLM1085 from Amsterdam, originally due to land in Cork diverted to Shannon, landing at 13:42.

"This was followed by FR157 from Leeds Bradford due to land in Dublin which landed safely in Shannon at 14:02, and by FR241 from Amsterdam due to land at Dublin which landed at Shannon at 15:13," they said.

The spokesperson confirmed that all Shannon Airport services have been operating to a normal schedule this Sunday.
