Limerick bus station to reopen this Thursday

BUS Éireann have announced that Colbert Station will re-open to bus passengers on Thursday, January 11. 

First services will commence at 5:15am with customers encouraged to visit the website for up to date timetables. 

This initial re-opening represents the first phase of the Colbert Transport Interchange, a project involving Bus Éireann and Irish Rail, funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Works remain ongoing at some parts of the station with a full re-opening of the station, to both rail and bus passengers, expected in the coming months.

The new car park adjacent to Colbert Station will also open on Thursday and will be located off Parnell Street. The entrance will be located at the previously used bus entrance. 

The temporary car park will no longer be available to customers.

Colbert Station passengers will benefit from a range of enhanced modern facilities including a spacious covered waiting area with 20 bus bays and digital route information screens.

Bus Éireann also confirmed that their Limerick City Electrification project is progressing as planned.

This project will see their Limerick fleet converted to fully electric vehicles and will be Irelands first fully electric city service.
