"A VERY busy stretch" of road in Limerick city was where one woman was, when she got robbed in the early evening.

A woman in her 50's was walking by the Model School on O'Connell street, Limerick city, when a man attempted to grab her handbag.

The incident happened on Wednesday, November 29 last, between 4pm and 5pm.

While the woman held on to her bag, the man opened her bag and proceeded to grab her purse from her hands. He ran off in the direction of Ballincurra, according to the garda report.

A short time later, the woman’s purse was located by a passerby and returned to her. All of her cards were intact but her cash was missing.

According to the guards, "this is a very busy stretch of road" and gardaí in Roxboro are looking for any witnesses to contact them on 061 214 340.
