GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following two incidents of robbery that occurred in Limerick city.
The incidents took place on O'Connell Avenue and Edward Street on Wednesday, November 29.
Between 3pm and 4pm on O'Connell Avenue, a female aged in her early 40s was threatened by a male who attempted to take her handbag. The bag was across the injured party's torso and the suspect was unable to take the handbag, and then put his hand in her handbag and took her wallet. He left the scene on foot in the direction of Ballinacurra Road.
In the second incident, a woman aged in her late 60s, was walking along Edward Street, beside the People's Park at approximately 4pm. A lone male threatened her and grabbed her purse. He dropped the purse and left the scene in the direction of Pery Square, Limerick.
Both women were uninjured during the incidents.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the areas between 3pm and 4:30pm, who may have witnessed either of these incidents and particularly any person who assisted the injured parties, to come forward. They are appealing to any road users who were travelling on the roads at the time with camera footage to make this available to them.
