A CHURCH fire in county Limerick was thought to have been caused by an electrical fault.

On Thursday, November 23 last, fire services attended an emergency at St Ita's church in Dromcollogher, Co Limerick.

The incident was reportedly minor and no major damage was done.

However, having been caused by an electrical fault, it was deemed unsafe to reconnect the electricity supply to the church at that time.

The local community came to the aid of the church and temporary generating facilities were safely put in place.

The church's Facebook page updated the community the following day, saying that masses will resume as normal.
