Items stolen from Limerick home during party

GARDAI are offering advice to Limerick people ahead of the party season after items were stolen from a woman's home.

A young woman in Newcastle West arranged for some friends to call to her home for a few drinks.

At some stage in the night, the woman went to bed and allowed the party to continue.

The following morning she discovered that items of her property were missing from her home including medication.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street garda station offered advice to people on how to protect themselves.

"A homeowner does not have to allow anybody into their home, I mean nobody, not even their friends or family if they do not want to.

"Keep this in mind when a stranger calls, do not open the door, speak through the locked door and ask them to leave a business card.

"Be very cautious who you allow into your home especially as the Christmas party season nis around the corner."
