THERE were long delays on the Limerick to Cork motorway this Thursday evening following a multi-vehicle collision.
Limerick Fire and Rescue Service staff were called to the M20 at approximately 6:15pm after a three-car collision between junctions two and one.
The incident took place on the northbound stretch of the road, heading towards Limerick city.
Four fire appliances were sent from the fire service base in Mulgrave Street, with officers leaving the scene at around 7.30pm.
There were severe tailbacks on the motorway as a consequence, with one driver who was witness to the queues reporting delays between both the Raheen exit and Patrickswell exits.
"Traffic is at a standstill. Greenfield Road is totally at a standstill, some of the cars are in the slip road and the drivers are getting off," the driver said.
