A Pair of rare Limerick silver spoons to go up for auction

The pair of rare spoons handcrafted by Limerick master craftsman, Maurice Fitzgerald in 1780

A PAIR of rare silver spoons made in Limerick by master craftsman, Maurice Fitzgerald in 1780 will go under the gavel next Tuesday in Durrow as part of Sheppard's auction - A Gentleman's Library.

The Lot featuring the spoons has an estimate of between €3,000 to  €5,000. Also being offered for sale is an iron meteorite dagger; a Michael Collins letter; a John Constable woodland landscape and a rare games table from the 1840s made from Killarney yew. 

Previews of the sale will be held on Saturday and Sunday this week in Sheppard's Auction Rooms in the centre of Durrow.
