Joseph Nelligan died in hospital following an incident on Saturday evening
A TEENAGER who died tragically following a road collision close to the Limerick-Kerry border at the weekend has been named locally as Joseph Nelligan.
Joseph, who was in his late teens, died at Kerry University Hospital following an incident in Duagh village, Listowel, Kerry at around 10pm on Saturday.
Gardaí say the driver, a woman in her early 20s, and three passengers, all in their late teens, were uninjured.
Mr Nelligan was a resident of the Tooreennagrena area, Rockchapel, on the Limerick-Cork border and messages of condolence from both Limerick and Cork have been posted on RIP.ie.
Gardaí in Listowel are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed Saturday's collision to contact them.
Any road users who were travelling on the R555 between 9.30pm and 10pm (on Saturday) and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), is asked to make this available to gardaí.
