MORE than 1,000 homes and businesses in County Limerick are without a power supply this Wednesday afternoon, ESB Networks has confirmed.

A total of 1,139 customers are affected by the fault which occurred in the Ahane/Annacotty area shortly before midday.

According to the powercheck app, crews have been deployed and it's hoped a full supply can be restored to all customers by 3.30pm.

While a status yellow wind warning remains in place due to the arrival of Storm Agnes, it's not known if the fault is related to the bad weather.

Separately, thousands of homes and businesses are currently without power in counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford where status orange weather warnings are in place.
