A NATIONAL bread baking contest will take centre stage in a County Limerick store this Wednesday.
Bakers from Limerick and all over the country are being invited to take part in ALDI's National Brown Bread Baking Competition with a cash prize of €15,000 up for grabs and the chance to see their bread stocked in all 160 ALDI stores.
Lucky finalists, from regional heats across the country, will be chosen to battle it out at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, County Laois, which take place from September 19 to 21, 2023.
The competition is free and open to all members of the public, with entrants invited to drop off their freshly baked bread in ALDI at Newcastle West, between 9am and 11am this Wednesday.
Bread can also be submitted at a number of other Aldi stories across the country up to August 2.
Entrants should remember to label their bread with name, address, e-mail address and phone number.
Happy baking!
