MORE than 1,500 flexible learning places have been made available by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) for the next academic year.
Worth more than €8.5 million, these HCI and Springboard skilled focused programmes were developed following detailed engagement with local industry.
Funded by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Human Capital Initiative (HCI) and Springboard are focused on increasing capacity in higher education for skills-focused programmes, designed to meet the priority skills needs of industry in the region and nationally.
Dean of Flexible & Worked Based Learning TUS Seamus Hoyne said: “These programmes are designed to meet industry needs following detailed engagement with businesses and industry leaders in the regions.
"The programmes support career progression as well as entry into new areas and disciplines”.
The programmes are delivered on a part-time basis allowing students to work and learn at the same time.
