CONSTRUCTION of 14 ‘rapid-build’ houses on the southside of Limerick city will kick off in September.
Homelessness charity, the Peter McVerry Trust is teaming up with Limerick City and County Council and Clenn Construction, based at the Galvone Industrial Estate to put together these homes in Carew Park.
The information from senior executive Mary Hayes was given to Fianna Fail councillor Catherine Slattery.
These new ‘infill’ homes will be constructed on the general footprint of previously demolished houses. A central objective of the development is to knit existing gapped streetscapes back together.
The new homes will be factory built and assembled on-site and form part of the wider major regeneration and development of Moyross and Southill by Limerick City and County Council.
