Gardai are investigating the attempted burglaries
CRIMINALS who targeted two County Limerick petrol stations in the same night left empty-handed
Limerick Live understands a number of "house breaking implements" were used by the perpetrators to try and gain entry to the businesses in Caherline and Cappamore.
However, the comprehensive and stringent security measures held firm and their plans were foiled. A certain amount of damage was caused by the burglars before they sped away on Friday night, May 26 or the early hours of that Saturday morning.
The filling station in Caherline, located on the R513 Limerick to Mitchelstown road, was only reopened two weeks earlier much to the delight of locals.
A garda spokesperson said gardaí are investigating incidents of burglary that occurred at commercial premises in the Caherline area and in Cappamore late on Friday, May 26 or Saturday morning, May 27.
"There were no items reported as stolen. Investigations are ongoing," said the garda spokesperson.
Gardai in Roxboro Road and Bruff are investigating the crimes. If anybody witnessed any suspicious activity in the Caherline or Cappamore areas on the dates in question they are asked to contact 061-214340 or 061-382940.
