The drugs were seized in Ennis on Thursday
A MAN who was arrested following the seizure of cannabis worth around €105,000 has been released without charge.
Suspected drugs, worth an estimated €100,000, were seized in the early hours of Thursday when gardaí from the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit stopped a vehicle in the Tobarteascain area of Ennis.
The occupant of the car - a man in his late 20s - was subsequently arrested and detained at a garda station in Clare.
Follow-up searches of a residence in the area yielded the seizure of a further €5,000 of suspected cannabis along with weighing scales and other drug paraphernalia.
In an update, issued this Friday evening, a garda spokesperson confirmed the suspect has now been released.
"Gardaí have released without charge the man (aged in his 20s) who was arrested on Thursday, May 25 2023, following the seizure of €105,000 of suspected cannabis in County Clare. The male was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions," they said.
Investigations are ongoing.
