Victim of fatal road traffic collision near Limerick border named

A PEDESTRIAN who died in a collision involving a lorry near the Limerick border on Friday has been named locally.

Pat Galvin died at the scene of the fatal road traffic collision just before lunchtime on Charleville's Main Street.

Aged in his early 80s, he lived in Clonleigh, Newtownshandrum in the North Cork town.

Following the incident, the road was closed for a forensic examination.

However, it's since re-opened.

Pat is survived by his wife Florus (née Kelly), son William and daughters Mary (Browne) and Helen.

His funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.

May he rest in peace.
