LIMERICK City and County Council (LCCC) are launching public consultation for the proposed Wickham Street to Clare Street Active Travel Scheme.
Members of the Limerick public are being invited to have their say on proposals to provide an active travel scheme linking Parnell Street to Clare Street.
The public will get the chance to view and comment on the proposed designs at an in-person consultation event in the city centre.
The drop-in session will be held at the Citizen Innovation Lab, UL City Campus, Sarsfield Street 12pm - 3pm and 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday, April 26.
A virtual public consultation room is to go live on the same day and will remain open for a month.
Senior Engineer with the Active Travel team at LCCC, Sean McGlynn believes all stakeholders should have the chance to “put forward their views” for the city’s active travel plan.
“I would encourage all of those with an interest in the future direction of the city centre's transport infrastructure to play an active part in next week's non-statutory public consultation event," he said.
The project is being delivered by LCCC’s active travel team and is funded by the National Transport Authority.
It is proposed to connect the Colbert Station Quarter to Park Canal and the University of Limerick via a pedestrian and cycle facility.
The link would then additionally facilitate onward active travel connections to the National Technology Park (Castletroy), Annacotty, Castleconnell and Scarriff.
