FOCUS IRELAND and Today FM are calling on Limerick people to support The Big Busk and help raise vital funds for homelessness.
They are calling on singers, musicians, performers, and buskers in Limerick to join the fight against homelessness through The Big Busk for Focus Ireland, taking place on Friday, March 10.
The Limerick event will take place in the Crescent Shopping Centre. Today FM will feature live performances throughout the day while taking time to explore all sides of the homelessness crisis through live interviews.
The Big Busk for Focus Ireland aims to raise €250,000 for the charity, which supports families affected by homelessness.
A record of 11,754 people are currently experiencing homelessness in Ireland, including 1,609 families and 3,431 children.
In comparison to 8,914 people at the same time last year, homelessness is rapidly increasing, making this year’s efforts more important than ever.
As of the end of January 2023 there were 414 adults homeless and 152 children officially recognised as homeless in Limerick and Clare.
From youth housing and advice and information to long-term housing, local support is needed so Focus Ireland can continue to offer these services to the Limerick community.
You can show your support for The Big Busk by registering to take part, or by donating to Focus Ireland. For more information, please visit thebigbusk.focusireland.ie or call 01 8815900
