Eric Clarke, Virgin Media news reporter now swaps roles for local authority officer
A VIRGIN Media reporter from Limerick has officially swapped roles from TV to local authority officer.
Limerick City and County Council is "delighted" to confirm that Eric Clarke has taken up the role of Communications Officer with the local authority.
Eric, an award-winning journalist, is a familiar face and voice in Limerick having previously worked as a journalist on local radio and on national television stations. Eric joins Limerick City and County Council from Virgin Media News where he has been the Mid-Western Reporter for the last six years.
The Limerick native was Mid-Western Correspondent with UTV Ireland for two years and spent eight years as a reporter and presenter on Limerick’s Live 95. He is a previous winner of the PPI National Radio Awards ‘News Reporter of the Year’ award and has a number of other accolades to his name.
Eric is a proud Limerick man with a passion for storytelling: “During my career as a Limerick based journalist, I have witnessed an incredibly positive transformation of the city and county. It has been great to be able to report on developments in terms of both infrastructure and reputation that have helped to change the national conversation.
“I am now looking forward to playing a central role in helping to communicate the ongoing changes that will cement Limerick’s reputation as an exciting destination to live, work and visit.”
