GAMES FLEADH, Ireland's yearly game development event, will celebrate its 20-year anniversary at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Thurles campus this month.
Games Fleadh is an event where Irish game developers, students of game and software development, enthusiasts and professors alike celebrate the country's game development industry.
The event, which takes place on March 8 at TUS Thurles campus, will feature game presentations, awards, guest speakers and celebrations for the 20-year anniversary. You can register to attend at www.gamesfleadh.ie
The day will also celebrate videogames of the past and present that have inspired world-famous developers with features from games such as Doom, FIFA and Guitar Hero.
Students and developers will present their own creations and awards will be given to the best games made in different categories such as best game mechanics, best trailer, and best use of artificial intelligence algorithms.
The competition will reward those brightest and most innovative for their contribution to the Irish games development industry.
BAFTA award-winning Game Designer Brenda Romero will be talking about the booming industry and the importance of women in technology in celebration of International Women's Day.
John Romero of Romero Games will feature and chat with the audience while commemorating the 30-year anniversary of the video game Doom.
Leading professionals from game development giants Electronic Arts will also be in attendance.

Games Fleadh is a free, ticketed event, and is an excellent opportunity for students of computer science and game development to learn and network with industry professionals.
