Gardai at Bruff are investigating the incident

GARDAI are appealing for information after a number of power tools were stolen from a van which was parked outside a house close to a Limerick village.

The incident happened shortly after 1.10am last Saturday in the townland of Cahercorney, just outside Herberstown.

"A black car pulled up outside the private residence, three thieves jumped out of this car and broke into a white work van. This was a white Ford transit van and the thieves stole a number of tools from the van including two Milwaukee red drills," said Garda John Finnerty.

After removing the tools from the van,  the thieves jumped back into the car which sped off at high speed in the direction of Herbertstown.

"The only description that we have of the thieves is that they were all wearing balaclavas and gloves. The only description that we have of their car is that it was a black car," stated Garda Finnerty.

Gardai at Bruff are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact them at (061) 382940.
