Gardai at Henry Street are investigating
GARDAI are investigating the theft of cash from a car which was parked outside a house in Limerick city.
The incident, which is being described as opportunistic, happened last Thursday morning (February 2) at Fairgreen, Ballysimon.
"At 7.30am, the owner of a silver Toyota Corolla came out of her house and unlocked her car which was parked directly outside her house. She suddenly realised that she had forgotten to bring something with her from her house and she went back inside leaving her car unlocked," said Garda John Finnerty.
"When she came back out to her car a short time later, she discovered that the glove compartment had been opened and a small amount of cash had been stolen from the car. The theft had literally taken place within five minutes, this had all the hallmarks of an opportunistic thief," he added.
Garda say they don’t have a description of the thief and they are appealing to anyone who was around the Fairgreen area of Ballysimon last Thursday morning at around 7.30am and who saw any suspicious activity, to contact them.
Henry Street gardai are investigating and can be contacted at (061) 212400.
