Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor is just over two years away
GOVERNMENT has teed up a search for a project director for the 2027 Ryder Cup tournament in Adare Manor.
And it is offering a salary which could rise to almost €130,000-a-year.
With the blue riband golf tournament just over two years away, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, the Gaeltacht, Sports and Media has announced a search for “an exceptional leader” to fill the position.
They described the job as “a prestigious role responsible for co-ordinating Ireland’s hosting of one of golf’s most significant international events.”

“The successful candidate will serve as the project co-ordinator between government bodies, local authorities, the host venue (Adare Manor) and Ryder Cup Europe to ensure the successful delivery of this globally renowned sporting event in Ireland,” it states.
The deadline for applications for the position fell this Wednesday, April 2.
The successful candidate’s role will include leading engagement with Limerick City and County Council at both political and administrative levels.
On top of this, they will be expected to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders such as management at Adare Manor, Ryder Cup Europe, plus key governmental departments and agencies.
Regular progress reports will be expected to be provided to the Minister at the Department, who at the moment is local TD Patrick O’Donovan.
The job will be divided between Limerick and Dublin, with travel further afield also expected.
In terms of what the pay is, the recruitment notice states it will be that of a principal officer, the third most senior position in the civil service.
It means the salary would start at €104,971, but could rise as high as €129,841 based on years of service and experience.
