Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following theft of homeowner's car in Limerick

HOMEOWNERS are being advised by gardaí in Limerick to consider getting an intruder alarm installed, after one home break-in where a car was stolen.

Between 2am and 4am on Tuesday, November 19, a house in the Monaleen area was broken into.

During the course of the burglary, the keys for a 2023 blue BMW 520 were taken and the car was stolen.

“The thieves used a tool to break the lock on the rear door,” said Sergeant Aoife Bannon of Henry St garda station.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Monaleen/Castletroy area of the city between 2am and 4am on November 19 and may have any information relating to this incident to contact Henry St on 061 212 400.”

Additionally, Sgt Bannon is also advising homeowners to consider the installation of an intruder alarm.

“Most alarms can now be programmed so that only some parts of the house are covered, like the door sensors for example, and so it can be turned on when you are in the house at night,” she said.
