THE Limerick hurlers will find out who they will play in the All Ireland SHC qualifiers on Sunday when the draw is made in Croke Park.
The draw will be pre-recorded after the Leinster football championship games in Croke Park and shown on the Sunday Game evening programme later on.
Limerick will join the five teams that don’t reach the Leinster semi-finals in the preliminary phases of the this year’s qualifiers.
Carlow and Antrim are already in the draw after losing to Laois and Westmeath respectively while the losers of this weekend’s Leinster SHC quarter-finals will join them.
This weekend Laois play Dublin, Westmeath play Galway and Offaly take on Wexford. The losers of these three ties will join Limerick, Carlow and Antrim.
Two of the six teams will be given a bye into the second phase of qualifiers with the four out of the draw first playing on Saturday, June 23. The winners of these games play again on Saturday, June 30, against the sides given a bye in the opening round. The first-named team out of the draw will have home advantage.
The winners of those games will then advance to the third phase of the qualifiers on Saturday, July 14 - the round before the All Ireland quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, the beaten semi-finalists in Leinster and Munster will be drawn against each other in the second phase of the qualifiers.
The winner of those two games will then play the two phase one winners in Phase 3.
The games up to Phase 3 will be on a home and away basis with games after that in a neutral venue.
The All Ireland quarter-finals are generally played as a double header.
