Quarter-finalists confirmed in Limerick Senior Football Championship

THE quarter-finalists have been confirmed in this year's Irish Wire Products Limerick senior football championship.

Monaleen face Mungret St Paul's and Fr Casey's will take on St Kieran's in the SFC quarter-finals on October 25. Meanwhile, county champions Adare and Newcastle West have advanced directly into the semi-finals after topping groups one and two respectively.

In group one, Adare recorded a 0-17 to 0-13 victory over Monaleen in Bruff on Saturday afternoon to make it five wins from five for Harry Gleeson's side. Adare's Hugh Bourke was on target with 0-7, while Limerick inter-county hurler Donnacha Ó Dálaigh scored 0-4 for the Castletroy-based side.

Fr Casey's edged past Na Piarsaigh 1-17 to 1-14 to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the football championship.
Rathkeale just did enough to defeat Oola 1-15 to 0-16 and retain their SFC status for next year.

In group two, Newcastle West cruised to a 3-20 to 0-7 victory over Ballylanders. The recently retired Limerick footballer Iain Corbett finished up with 2-6 from play for ‘the Magpies’.

Meanwhile, Galtee Gaels defeated Kildimo-Pallaskenry 1-15 to 0-9, while Mungret St Paul's eased past St Kieran's 3-12 to 0-7.
St Kieran’s and Galtee Gaels were tied on five points, but St Kieran’s move into the knock-out stages because they had beaten Galtee Gaels earlier in the competition.

Oola take on Ballylanders and Kildimo-Pallaskenry face Na Piarsaigh in the relegation semi-finals on October 25.
