The Mayor’s visit coincided with one of the busiest training nights, with every pitch in use, from under 6s and underage Monday night football to an U16 hurling championship match, plus senior football and senior camogie training.

There was a lively atmosphere inside the clubhouse with Irish dancing classes in full swing and preparations underway for the club’s weekly popular lotto social evening.

"Na Piarsaigh is a shining example of what sport can do for a community," said Mayor Moran during his tour.

"This fundraiser is about more than running, it’s about coming together to support a club that gives so much back to its community."

Captains Jerome Bolyan (senior hurlers), Evan Egan (senior footballers), and Sinead Barry (senior camogie) joined Will O’Donoghue, Vice-Captain of the Limerick Senior Hurlers, in welcoming the Mayor and showcasing the club’s facilities.

Club Chairman Risteard O’Flaherty said the timing of the visit perfectly captured the spirit of Na Piarsaigh.

"Seeing every pitch full on a Monday night, from our youngest players to our senior teams, is what Na Piarsaigh is all about."

"We’re proud to welcome Mayor Moran on such a night, because it shows the heart of our club in action. This fundraiser will help us keep providing top-class facilities and opportunities for all our members, now and into the future."

The event is generously sponsored by M&C Property, whose support is helping make the day possible.

"M&C Property is proud to support Na Piarsaigh in this fantastic community event,” said Diarmuid Madigan of M&C Property.

"The 5K and 10K bring people of all ages together, showcase the incredible spirit within the club, and help ensure its facilities continue to thrive for future generations," he said.
