LIMERICK'S Tailteann Cup final showdown with Kildare last weekend attracted a bumper national TV audience, RTE has revealed.
The Saturday Game Live on RTÉ2 began with the Shannonsiders' first ever Tailteann Cup final appearance with Kildare providing the opposition at Croke Park.
The game was watched by an average of 151,000 viewers, peaking at 227,000 at the end of the game.

In effect, 31% of those watching TV at the time were tuned-in, while there were 61,551 streams on RTÉ Player.
The Tailteann Cup final ended in a narrow two point, 1-24 to 2-19, victory for the Leinster side.
Saturday's second live game saw an average of 424,000 watching as Kerry sealed their place in the All-Ireland Football Final by beating Tyrone. Viewing on The Saturday Game Live peaked at 510,000 (18.38) with 52% of the available audience watching. There were 144,276 streams on RTÉ Player.
Sunday's semi-final meeting of Donegal and Meath averaged 490,000 viewers on The Sunday Game Live peaking at 560,000 (17.20) with 54% of the available audience tuning-in. RTÉ Player saw 176,906 streams as Donegal booked their place in the final.
