Limerick senior football star named on GAA.ie team of the week

LIMERICK senior football star Emmet Rigter was named on GAA.ie Tailteann Cup team of the week. Rigter was insturmental in Limerick's victory over Westmeath in round three of the Tailteann Cup last Saturday. 

The Newcastle clubman scored 0-3 in the Shannonsiders first ever victory against Westmeath in competitive action. Rigter sealed the victory late on kicking the match-winner against their Leinster rivals in Portlaoise. 

The TUS Midwest student has scored 0-7 during the opening three rounds of the Tailteann Cup. Rigter is partnered by Laois' Damien Larkin in midfield on GAA.ie team of the cup.

Jimmy Lee's side cannot face Westmeath or Antrim in the last eight of the Tailteann Cup. Limerick can face Offaly, Wexford, New York, Carlow, Sligo or Laois in the quarter-finals in the Tailteann Cup on June 14/15. 

Lee's charges were defeated by Sligo at the quarter-final stage and a win will secure their place into the semi-finals of the competition in Croke Park on June 22.
